1940s Apple of Your Eye Dress

This is for all of you hard core vintage clothing lovers out there who appreciate a completely handmade garment. The Apple of Your Eye Dress combines the vintage aesthetic and construction details with 100% cotton washable fabric in a fun modern print. The fabric has yellow, red and white apples through out on a black background with crisp red cuffs, buttons and collar.

This dress shape, based on an VINTAGE source dress and sewn on a 1902 Singer treadle machine (GREEN! NO electricity!), It features hand-finished buttonholes, hand-sewn buttons, and pinked seams just as Grandma (or Great-grandma) would have done. This dress is designed with movement in mind.

• The comfortable sleeves and cuffs are bias cut to provide additional stretch -- no crimping your style while you dance!
• Collar and cuffs interlined with sturdy interfacing; turn-back cuffs top stitched for extra crispness. No drooping, no matter how the dance floor heats up!
• Pleats at the shoulder and waistline flatter your figure without binding.
• Full skirt can be worn with or without a crinoline.
• Skirt hook at the waistline ensures a secure fit.
• 9 functional buttons down the front, no struggling around the back for a zipper!

Care instructions: Although the fabric was washed / preshrunk prior to construction, we recommend machine washing in cold water with mild detergent and line drying to keep your dress looking fabulous. Cool iron as needed. The Apple of your Eye Dress was designed and sewn locally by The Drowsy Seamstress exclusively for Cats Like Us. Which means you can't find it anywhere else!
